Once again the Spanish neighbours invited me over for the evening where we discussed the worlds’ problems in general and the history of the Spanish Civil War, and the this area’s part in it (against Franco).
Mario astonished me with the news that he (like me) was a great fan of Julie Christie, who apparently has a house in the next village up the valley.
A trip to the only bar in the village later in the evening saw me introduced to the local electrician, from Marlow Bottom (almost) where my brother lives.
My adventure in these parts complete and more foul weather expected in coming days I set a course (ashamedly mostly by train) to Barcelona and the approaches to the Pyrenees where I had promised myself to ride the beast beyond exclusively and shun further attractions of public transport.
